Welcome to another great hockey season. For those of you that are trying hockey for the first time - welcome. Our Learn to Play program helps young skaters to improve their skating skills, but also teaches the basic skills of stickhandling, shooting and passing.

When: Every Friday 18h30 - 19h30
Registration: On-site registration before 18h20.
Required: Bike helmet + warm gloves
Recommended: Knee + elbow protection
Included: Ice skates + Free disco skating 19h30 - 22h00


What is learn to skate?

Our Learn to Play program helps young skaters to improve their skating skills, but also teaches the basic skills of stickhandling, shooting and passing. It's a great way to feel more confident about your hockey skills before your first Team Tryout.

Who can attend?

Anyone who has basic skating skills can join our Learn To Play Program. If this is your first time on the ice, we recommended to try our Learn To Skate program first.

Who teaches it?

Our Learn To Play program is instructed by our Sharkilicious Coaches who also coach our youth hockey teams. Our youth skaters also have their own learning station to guarantee that their practice is fun, age-appropriate, and a great start to a lifetime of hockey.

What will you learn?

Our Learn To Play program is designed to be fun, age-appropiate, and guarantees a great start to a lifetime of hockey. Our program helps young skaters to improve their skating skills, but also teaches the basic skills of stickhandling, shooting and passing.

How long does it take?

Our practice on Friday evening takes 60 min. Please make sure to register before 18h20 which should give you enough time to pick up your skates and walk over to the hockey area.

What is included??

Your registration includes the use of hockey skates and a hockey stick. Free access to Disco Skating session afterwards is included.

What do you need to participate??

To join our Learn To Play program you need a bike or similar helmet to keep your head safe from possible injuries. Knee and elbow protectors are optional but recommended. Warm clothing and gloves to keep you warm on the ice.

Do you need a helmet?

Yes - a bike or similar helmet is required. If you do not have or forgotten your helmet a hockey helmet will be provided.

Are ice skates included?

Yes - hockey skates are included in your registration. Make sure to ask for hockey skates and not regular skates at our rental area. 

When can you move on to Learn to Play?

To make the most out of our Learn To Play program you need basic skating skills. If this is your first time on the ice, we recommend to try our Learn to Skate program first. You do not need any hockey experience.

How do you sign up?
